Canon New Zealand now occupies 3600 sq.m in their new head office in Akoranga Business Park. Their previous premises were too small and no longer suited their business requirements. They were looking for a more prominent location and a better environment which they didn't have near Barry's Point Road.

The design process started with an in-depth survey of staff and management teams to assess their spatial and workflow requirements.  We were part of the building development team responsible for all the interior aspects of the building. This included developing layouts, preparing working drawings and selecting materials and finishes.  Sourcing and specifying new furniture and screens was required as well ordering and over viewing the installation.  Designing and detailing special joinery for the showroom, reception, staff and service areas was also part of the brief.

Managing Director, Gordon Lamont, said previously they did internal alterations themselves but they were smaller in nature. Our office relocation was a huge project and we felt we lacked time, knowledge and design expertise to put it together.”
