International industrial metal manufacturer, Locker Group, purchased Mounts Wire Industries and required a purpose built facility, in Auckland, to accommodate the two different businesses located previously at separate sites.

Regarding the offices, they had ideas on how it should be laid out and the area required but they had a pretty basic knowledge of what was in the market place regarding design, systems, hardware and finishes.

Locker wanted to have an open plan office design which brought production and sales closer to each other.  Amalgamating the two companies' business systems was a priority and improving the office work flow from reception - greeting customers, through to the paperwork going out to the factory was important to them.

Locker Group's General Manager, Lindsay Cook, said we have a whole range of customers, including architectural and construction clients.  In reception, we wanted something different, that is striking and to be able to display our range of products effectively."
